A record of Scotland’s railway lines and elevated railway tracks which have been decommissioned and left to overgrow in the years since. In some of these areas the path of the old line has become hidden beneath the vegetation, allowing for a return of nature to these densely populated areas, where in others small footpaths have emerged, following the infrastructure and scars left behind from an industry in a slow decline over the last century.
All of the images were made in 2023 and show the Caledonian Railway in both Edinburgh and in Glasgow, the Highland Railway, the Great North of Scotland Railway and the Buchan and Formartine Line.
